50 MOH (39/50) – knock at the cabin (2023)

(39/50) Knock at the Cabin (2023) – 2 🌟

Much like a bad date, there is promise, build-up, and suspense, and then the climax lasts approximately 15 seconds of disappointment followed by the feeling of “what the fuck was that”.

50 MOH (38/50) – The Pope’s Exorcist (2023)

(38/50) The Pope’s Exorcist (2023) – 3 🌟

Probably one of the better exorcism movies lately, but the material it is “based on” from the real exorcist is bullshit (something like 70,000 exorcisms, sometimes assembly-lined every 30 minutes) is bullshit that shouldn’t be promoted.

(37/50) Haunted Mansion (2023) – 4 🌟

I realize this is probably more bland than mac and cheese, but it was a nice, happy ending-filled Disney movie that served as a break between the horrific flesh-eating, death-filled horror movies been watching.

(35/50) Friday the 13th Part 3 – 3D (1982) – 3 ⭐️

Horrible but as a kid I always wanted to see it in 3D. The 3D did not age as well, but this is where he gets the iconic hockey mask, hence the 3!

50 MOH – Friday the 13th Part II (1981)

50 Movies of Halloween

Ok, this series is objectively bad, I don’t mind admitting I like garbage movies, but this is one of those special ones.

This is the first movie I saw in the series at the age of 14 or so in 1985, right before we became homeless. We went to the local video store in Lake Stevens (we had inherited a little bit of money and owned a mobile home for a short time). We picked this one up, along with III and maybe IV, along with Halloween.

It was a cool experience, we got our first VHS player and from this point until I moved out at 19 we would rent 6-10 movies over the weekend when we had money and a home and it was very much a bonding experience with my family.

When I moved out, I ended up within a year living with my husband and did it a few times then as well (this time mostly focused on anime, some horror, or even some porn). There is something about picking 6+ movies and just camping in your living room or your bedroom eating snacks and slow down. Maybe I need to do that now.

(33/50) Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) -4 ⭐️ Definitely not really a 4 for most people, but for me it is.

50 MOH – Friday the 13th (1980)

50 Movies of Halloween

Definitely my favorite 80s horror franchise, if I had seen #1 first originally though I probably wouldn’t have watched the others. Definitely not the same. Still gets 2 because it is F13th

Oh, and I own all of them. Yes, I am sad, but haven’t seen any since my 20s. I did start the series on Friday the 13th, but thought it too stereotypical to post then.

Surprised at how good it was, and it is an excellent update to the story Jud told Louis. It totally felt like a young version of the original Judd actor RIP Fred Gwynne

50 MOH – The Fog (1980)

One of my all-time favorites!
(29/50) The Fog (1980) – 5 ⭐️

It is 70s slow, and I am biased as my dad and I watched this and it was his favorite, but Jamie Lee Curtis makes everything better.

@jamieleecurtis This trans woman wants to thank you for being an ally and a great actress, I love your Scream Queen and all your other movies (ok, you were a huge crush in True Lies too).
